Evil Fleet Watch

JLProject studies and monitors the Evil Fleet, the ships that capture people in the central Mediterranean and deport them to Libyan concentration camps. These include criminal patrol boats donated by Italy to Libya, as well as collaborationist cargo ships working for ENI.

All this information is useful to lawyers who are helping those who have been rejected.

The criminal patrol boats donated by Italy to Libya

These are extremely expensive vessels that violently capture people at sea and deport them to Libyan concentration camps. The militiamen who operate the patrol boats are trained at Italian military bases. In many cases, they have killed people during captures. They have also repeatedly attacked NGO ships with rifle fire.

We have realized that ALL the patrol boats donated by the Italian government to Libyan militias are committing crimes.

A few examples?

  • Nalut 302, donated by the Meloni government, rams boats to kill people fleeing Libya;
  • Fezzan 658, donated by the Conte I government, fires on the rescuers of Mediterranea Saving Humans;
  • Houn 664, donated by the Meloni government, attempts to kill the crew of the Ocean Viking…

Civil society in Europe has filed numerous complaints regarding the crimes of Libyan militiamen trained by the Italian government, but these complaints risk being dismissed when Italian prosecutors do not know the names of the criminals.

The Libyan militiamen are criminals who sleep soundly, perhaps because they believe the Italian government (the same one that trained them) is protecting them. They enjoy total impunity and, with sadistic bravado, publish evidence of their crimes on social media along with photos of their training in Italy. Incredibly, they post selfies taken at Italian military bases, clearly framing the diploma they received with the date, the name of the Italian military base, and their first and last name.

Cargo ships working for ENI platforms

Often, under the flags of tax havens, ships owned by Italian and European companies serving ENI platforms are simply hidden. These companies believe themselves untouchable and violate Italian and European laws by illegally carrying out collective pushbacks from the sea to Libyan concentration camps.

Their modus operandi is to pick up people in international waters and then hand them over to Libyan militias.

Recent case law has shown shipping companies ordered to compensate those they illegally landed in Libya. The Asso Ventinove case is well-known. The solution is to help the victims file lawsuits.

What does Evil Fleet Watch do?

The JLProject research team links each criminal vessel or patrol boat to the pushbacks and other crimes they committed.

It also adds information on the ownership and history of the Evil Fleet vessels to better identify those responsible for and commissioning the various crimes.

JLproject makes all the collected material available to victims’ legal teams.

Who supports Evil Fleet Watch?

For now… none. But you can make a donation; it will help us investigate other ships. As you can see below, many are missing. If you have a favorite ship, let us know and we’ll add it.
